IRIS POUDRE

LE PARFUM DE THÉRÈSE

One of Edmond Roudnitska’s most important compositions. He created it in the 60s, when his art was at its highest. Aesthetically too advanced for its time, “ Le Parfum de Thérèse ” was never offered to the public, despite the admiration it elicited from colleagues.
Only Thérèse, the master’s wife and collaborator, could wear it.
Having become a veritable legend, this composition is making its
posthumous debut.

LIPSTICK ROSE

“Lipstick Rose” expresses femininity par excellence; its scent evokes a woman half Gilda half Silviana Mangano, inspiring to everyone at one time or another. COLOGNE BIGARADE

For many years, Jean Claude Ellena thought of creating a bitter Eau de Cologne. In other words, an extra fresh Eau de Cologne which bold formula would just unravel the sheer quality of a few natural raw materials. The creation of a new « Bigarade » (bitter orange) essence, especially made at Jean-Claude Ellena’s demand, made this project possible. This new natural raw material is used extensively in “Cologne Bigarade”, which is already considered to be a new cornerstone in the history of the “Eau deCologne".

VETIVER EXTRAORDINAIRE
A blending of precious woods enhanced by spices, amber and musks. It is topped by a few carefully chosen zests. A seemingly naïve composition based on the masterly dosage of a few outstanding raw materials.
Probably the single perfume containing the largest amount of Haïtian Vetyver essence in the industry. Frédéric Malle had fond memories of a very unusual exotic wood accord, which Dominique Ropion had composed when the two worked together at Roure Bertrand Dupont.
As the two peers were re-evaluating this base Dominique received a new high tech extraction of Haïtain Vetyver. No words needed to be said after smelling this amazingly qualitative, as the two friends immediately jumped to the conclusion that this new product-if added to the unfinished wooden base -could turn into a «Modern Classic ». 539 trials later what seemed to be a great idea became a finished perfume, thus «Vétiver Extraordinaire » was born.

UNE ROSE

Edouard Fléchier is one of the few 'star perfumers' to still spend a lot of time searching for new accords. Within the contest of this personal search, he showed Frédéric Malle a kind of olfactive sketch reproducing the earthy smell of a Perigord Truffle.
At first the two men decided to use this dark smelling base as the heart of a men's fragrance. Buy they soon came to the conclusion that it would be better employed if married to a Rose accord.
Furthermore, the dark smell of the Truffle gave depth to the fine rose extract and generated a natural scent close to that of a rose garden. The earthy-smelling base created a link between the natural essence of the wearer, and the "petally" smell of the flower, thus transforming this delicate scent in a true perfume.
